Acupressure
Finger pressure applied to acupoints is important in Chinese and Japanese medicine and has a popular following in the United States as well (Krieger 1979; Gach 1990). The use of acupressure on goats has not been well described or evaluated, but a popular text for treating cats and dogs (Schwarz 1996) can supply curious owners with basic information on the theory of Chinese medicine as well as location and stimulation of points. Clipping a little hair or making a circle on the skin with an indelible marker helps the owner to find the points to be stimulated.
