Conclusion

Feline upper respiratory aspergillosis represents a naturally occurring model of focal respiratory aspergillosis in an immunocompetent host, with both non-invasive and invasive forms of disease occurring. The pathogenic potential of fungi within Aspergillus section Fumigati has been realised for most species in the Aspergillus viridinutans complex, and these species have a propensity to cause chronic invasive disease in cats.
