Quality ofLife

Prognosis is variable, but in patients with persistent seizures or hepatic encephalopathy, the prognosis is guarded. If the clinical signs of liver failure and/or hepatic encephalopathy cannot be managed then euthanasia should be considered. Quality of life for patients includes being free of pain, not vomiting, reasonable appetite and a reasonable amount of energy.
