Quality ofLife

Although FIC is not a life-threatening disease, a cat with chronic or recurrent FIC can have a significantly reduced quality of life due to chronic pain and discomfort. Owner compliance is essential with feeding and environmental modifications. End-of-life decisions may become unavoidable in refractory chronic cases of confirmed FIC that do not seem to respond to any type of modifications or medications.
