Preface

This textbook depicts principles of animal physiology with morphological information in relation to cells, tissues, and organs involved in the physiological system. It describes the physiological purview of all systems for the better understanding of the students and is a valuable learning resource with an interrelationship with veterinary medicine.

The book emphasizes cellular physiology to body system function to homeostasis and immune function. It also contains an introductory chapter presenting an overview of animal physiology in this regard and elaborately describes cellular interaction with various functions of tissues and organs. The physiological processes with clinical correlations are nicely represented in the book. The book is very useful for the veterinary students, researchers, academicians and veterinary

nurses for the better understanding about the physiology in the mechanism of veterinary disease, clinical diagnosis and treatment of animals. The contributors read many textbooks, reference books, and websites to compile knowledge incorporated in this book. To the best of our knowledge, the book will help readers to assimilate all of the information. Suggestions of ways to improve this textbook in subsequent editions are always welcome.
