Mastitis
Mastitis, or inflammation of the mammary gland, is a broad diagnosis that may be based on changes in the physical characteristics of the udder or its secretion. Mastitis usually results from an infectious agent, although consuming avocado leaves also causes marked inflammation (Craigmill et al. 1992). Several reviews of caprine mastitis have been published (Smith and Roguinsky 1977; Lewter et al. 1984; Menzies and Ramanoon 2001; Bergonier et al. 2003; Contreras et al. 2007).
